As part of her “NRW Innovation Tour 2026”, Ms Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited us in Overath
As part of the ZIM collaborative project ‘naTHan’, we are working with the Polymer Laboratory at Cologne University of Applied Sciences to develop innovative plastic compounds for:
• Filament-based additive manufacturing
• Direct 3D printing using compounds without an intermediate filament step
• Thermally conductive engineering applications

Sustainable 3D printing materials for technical applications
We are delighted to be working on the funded ZIM cooperation project “naTHan” together with the Polymer Laboratory at Cologne University of Applied Sciences.
The proposed project involves the development of plastic compounds for the production of filaments for 3D printing, as well as direct 3D printing from plastic compounds – without the intermediate step of filament production.
This is based on the use of material flows from recycling. In addition to the use of base polymers, 3D printing materials for higher-quality technical applications, such as thermally conductive 3D printing materials, are to be developed.
With the “naTHan” project, we are making an active contribution to combining technical performance, additive manufacturing, and sustainable material development – and are jointly driving forward innovative solutions for industrial applications.
